POST 5: CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

 Hello!

Today I will talk about some changes that they would make in the career I study: Chemistry.

Since I previously studied another career (Civil Engineering), I notice several things in which the program or career and the teaching methodology lagged behind, or are methodologies that they consider obsolete.

One of them is that at the end of the semester they delete all the material uploaded to the platform of the classes studied, and the truth is that I do not understand why. It is a material that over the years would be very useful for future generations, since it would serve as extra study material to what is already delivered in the courses (which is very little).

Another thing to consider is that attendance at assistantships is mandatory. I think it's stupid, since in terms of university and teaching, each student should watch over how they distribute their study time. In addition to that, some teachers and assistants, the only thing they do is read the exposed slides, for which they consider that it is a waste of time, which could be used studying or even sleeping or distracting myself with some hobby.

Another factor to consider is that there are many people in the faculty who spend their days in solitude, since they entered the faculty in times of pandemic, there were no instances to be able to make friends, which makes university life a little more difficult than it should. You could work in instances to meet your fellow students.

    I don't know if this is what you refered to when you mention that the materials are errased, but if you go into your u-cursos sesion and click on the "mis cursos" category you will find your past topics with all the materials from that time. On the other hand I agree that pandemic has had a big influence in the relationships betwen students in a negative way.

    Like you comment, it has happened to me that some techers eliminate the teaching material at the end of the semester, I find it very bad.

Post 5: How Can Your Major Make the World a Better Place

Good night! Along with saying hello, Today I will talk about how my career could contribute to the world and society. My career is Chemistry and at this point of my career, I feel that I do not have the necessary knowledge to be able to do a deep analysis. However, one of the things that I think I could contribute to the world is recycling. Recycling based on garbage that is simply thrown away and not used again. One of those things is fruit peels or plastics. Plastics are one of the biggest sources of pollution on the planet, degrading over thousands of years and being thrown away as if they were occasionally harmless. At this point, due to consumerism and capitalism in the world, reducing plastic wrap and changing economic policies is complicated. POST 1: A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

  A country that I would like to visit is Iceland. Iceland is a country known for its weather, its volcanoes, being an island, its language, and its music. The main reason why I would like to visit Iceland, is because of its landscapes and its northern lights. It should be noted that its inhabitants do not receive visitors very well, so it would not be entirely appropriate to live or study for a time in the country. Among other things, I like musical artists from Iceland, such as Björk or the Icelandic band, Sigur Rós. Among other countries that I might like to visit, there may be some that are not so urbanized and have beautiful landscapes, such as Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Denmark, etc. Within Latin America you can still find beautiful landscapes, and one of the countries that can be visited is Chile, which has all kinds of climate, landscapes and beaches throughout the country.
